THD Yellow Jackets for Boogie Mark III

I thought I'd try out these Yellow Jacket devices I've been reading about to see if I could tame the Mark III beast of an amp I have here. ;) They work pretty well, but if your amp is loud it is going to be loud no matter what. These helped a tad on the volume, but mostly what happened was a tone change.

What the Yellow Jackets do is step down the power from a large, 6L6 or EL34 socket to an EL84 socket. I liked the sound of my Boogie running on EL84's, but as you would expect they do tend to distort rather quickly. Nice to have for certain applications, but not something I'll be using often.

Good to know that it doesn't really affect the volume. I was intending to get these for my Mark III Red Stripe so I could play it above the 2 volume setting in my house.

I have a Peavey Delta Blues 115 which is already EL84 and some one came up with a way to lower the power to 15 watts instead of 30 but with the same results. The amp will still be just as loud, but will just break-up earlier.
